The Supreme Court has ruled that use of force by police officers must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene rather than with 20/20 hindsight. Minority communities often feel with this decision as a guideline complaints to police departments are most often swept under the carpet without a proper vetting of the facts of each incident.
