John, you say you believe in the 2nd amendment and in the same breath say you support heavy restrictions on gun ownership, i.e. “all owners need a license.” The 2nd Amendment is very clear and is without restriction. The Founders were insistent about this.
Licensed, “trained” drivers kill many more people than LEGAL gun owners. Statistics show that vehicles are much more dangerous than legally used firearms.
We have placed MANY restrictions on gun ownership; some of which are justified but many are not.
The problem is not firearms it is human nature. Restricting law-abiding citizens is a placebo for pacifists so they feel they are doing something good for society. We need to enforce existing laws against criminals, not impose stricter laws on the good guys-n-gals.
