I am shocked at Rosie and couldn’t disagree more. It is critical to keep these horrific events in our memory, to honor the lives lost (and affected) and to ensure that atrocities aren’t repeated. Hitler? Osama bin Laden? ISIS? Pure evil. I am Jewish and it’s so important to our culture, to our very existence, that we remember. There is a difference between remembering, honoring and celebrating. We don’t need to celebrate but we must remember.
I agree with Rosie. It is unfortunate that this “human being” behaved in a way that required his destruction in the first place, but he did, we had to, and I support the action. A plaque, reminding us of who was killed and why, is appropriate for posterity but idolizing a piece of clothing is uncivilized and juvenile behavior and degrades the sincerity of the mission.
