It’s outrageous. My son is a high school senior and currently going through the college application process. Fortunately (?) he is not interested in any U.C. schools, having toured 3 of them (Cal, UCLA and Davis) but as Cal graduates and California taxpayers, we are disgusted at what the U.C. system has become. We are resigned and looking forward to our son attending a private university.
