Ken Dito talks about one of the great local show bands in the history of he San Francisco Bay Area. Butch Whacks and the Glass Packs started in 1971 and gave their last performance in June, 2014.

excellent stuff butch wax. lived in the same house junior year at smc with laz and the late craig martin. also went to jim keating s summer camp with bob sarlatte in 5th grade. had dr peppers every lunch time. may want to add this to the my interview as an aside. they used my disgusting sax for about 2 days in the early days.
I saw them play at one of the dorms at San Jose State- my alma mater. I think it was Joe West Hall- which we called Waffle Tower. It was 1973 and I thought they were fantastic. Loved the doo wop stuff but I really got stoked when they did Beach Boys music. Fantastic band!
